Could a Private PTSD Assessment give you the Clarity you’re looking for?
A PTSD assessment may be worth considering if:
- You've been trying to make sense of certain experiences — but still don't have a clear answer
- Something has continued to affect everyday life long after a difficult or traumatic experience
- You've read about PTSD or Complex PTSD — and want to understand whether either could explain what has been happening
- Previous support or treatment hasn't fully answered the question of why certain difficulties are still there
- You want to speak to a consultant psychiatrist who will look beyond a checklist and consider the whole picture.
You don't need to know whether it's PTSD before asking for an assessment.
Dr Musa Sami will take the time to understand what has happened, what has changed since, and how different areas of life may have been affected. He will consider PTSD alongside other possible explanations, before providing a clear clinical opinion and recommendations for what to do next.

Still have questions? Here are the ones we hear most often.
Dr Musa Sami will explore your experiences, mental health history, current difficulties and how different areas of your life have been affected before reaching a clinical opinion.
Your assessment with Dr Musa Sami will consider recognised diagnostic criteria alongside your wider clinical history. A formal psychiatric diagnosis can be provided where clinically appropriate.
You will have an opportunity to discuss what has happened, the difficulties you would like help understanding, your mental health history and the impact on everyday life. Dr Sami will consider whether PTSD or another clinical explanation best accounts for the overall picture.
The findings and recommended next steps will then be explained to you clearly.
In fact, establishing whether PTSD is the appropriate diagnosis is one of the reasons for having a psychiatric assessment. Dr Sami will consider PTSD alongside other possible explanations rather than assuming a diagnosis before the assessment begins.
Dr Sami will consider the nature of your experiences, the difficulties you describe and your wider mental health history before explaining his clinical findings and whether a particular diagnosis is appropriate.
The purpose of the assessment is to establish the most appropriate clinical explanation for the difficulties being explored. If the findings support a diagnosis of PTSD, this can be formally diagnosed. If another explanation appears more appropriate, Dr Sami will discuss this with you instead.
The report will document the relevant clinical findings, diagnosis where appropriate, and recommendations arising from the assessment.
This means you can attend from somewhere private and comfortable without travelling to a clinic.
You can submit a confidential enquiry directly through this page. The team will then contact you about availability and any information required before your appointment.
Your written report will include clinical recommendations. If PTSD is not considered the most appropriate diagnosis, Dr Sami will explain the alternative clinical findings and recommendations.
